Protect Our Children: Demand Immediate Safety Reforms at OLR Wyoming Primary School
The issue
Our Lady of the Rosary (OLR) Wyoming Primary School should be a place where children feel safe, supported, and protected. However, recent reports of two separate incidents of sexual assault in the school bathrooms, along with ongoing bullying and harassment, have shattered that sense of security. Students are afraid to use the bathrooms, anxious about attending school, and struggling to focus on their education. Parents and grandparents are deeply distressed, fearing for their children’s well-being. No child should feel unsafe in a place meant for learning and growth.
If action is not taken, the consequences will be devastating. Continued inaction will allow these dangerous situations to persist, putting more children at risk. Families may feel forced to remove their children from the school, and trust in OLR’s leadership will erode. However, by implementing stronger safety measures—such as increased supervision, anti-bullying programs, and improved communication—OLR can rebuild a safe and supportive environment where every child can learn without fear.
We cannot afford to wait. The school and the Broken Bay Diocese must take immediate steps to protect students before another child is harmed. Every day without action increases the risk of further incidents. We demand urgent reforms to ensure that OLR Wyoming Primary School is a safe space for all children. Sign this petition to call for change now—our children’s safety depends on it.
