‼️‼️Before reading this, please reflect on this issue as if you are a parent and put yourself in the shoes of this family right now. Even if you don't live in Weymouth, sharing this will help. 

 

My brother Doug was contacted on 2/14/25 by his neighbor. His neighbor gave him and his wife notice that their nearly 50-year-old son who is a repeat Level 2 sex offender would be moving home. Kevin Moore moved home on February 21, 2025

After being made aware of this situation, my brother has amicably been trying to prevent this from occurring. He has made his neighbor aware of not only the threat that this poses to his 3 young children who are under the age of 10, but also to the rehabilitation of the neighbors son, again, who is a repeat offender since 2010.

My brother's house is a stone throwaway from the neighboring house. Not only that but his street is a dead end where Kevin Moore can only enter and exit by continuingly passing my brother's house where his children play in the yard daily. 

This does not only impact my brother's family daily life, but also their livelihood. His wife is a nanny to children in the nearby community.  He also has a tenant who has been in the process of fostering a child.

I asked that you please share this as much as possible to bring awareness to the Weymouth community.

This is not just a minor offense—his crimes directly contributed to the exploitation of children. Now, he’s being placed right next to homes filled with young kids, a family adopting a child, and parents who have every right to feel safe in their own yards.

➡ He has no legal restrictions preventing him from being near children.
➡ He will have internet access, despite his crimes being digital in nature.
➡ He will be freely outside, with a direct view of where children play.

Kevin Moore’s Criminal History:

2010 Conviction
    •    Arrested and convicted on two counts of possession and one count of dissemination of child pornography.
    •    Authorities found over 900 explicit videos and images on his computer, accessed through file-sharing programs.
    •    He admitted to actively searching for child pornography.
    •    Sentenced to 2.5 years in jail and probation with conditions including no internet access.

2018 Arrest – Repeat Offense
    •    The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children flagged child pornography uploaded to a Dropbox account linked to Kevin Moore.
    •    A search warrant led authorities to more illegal material at his home.
    •    Held on a $50,000 bail and remained in custody for violating prior probation terms.

We Tried to Handle This Privately—Instead, We Were Threatened

We tried to have a civil discussion with his family about the risks, but instead of working toward a solution, we were met with hostility and threats.

This is not okay. Parents should not have to fight this hard to keep their children safe in their own neighborhood.

We are taking action to prevent this from happening and pushing for residency restrictions on sex offenders in Weymouth.
