Protect New Jersey's Wetlands and Preserve Its Wildlife

Protect New Jersey's Wetlands and Preserve Its Wildlife
The Issue
I am student at Widener University and I have been fortunate enough to witness the breathtaking beauty of New Jersey's wetlands. These ecosystems are not just visually stunning; they are home to a diverse range of wildlife species, making them an integral part of the state's natural heritage.
However, these wetlands and their inhabitants are under threat due to development pressures. Wetlands cover only about 5% of the land area in the United States (US Environmental Protection Agency), yet they support approximately one-third of all threatened and endangered species (National Wildlife Federation). In New Jersey alone, over 900 species depend on these habitats for survival.
Making these protected areas will help ensure that future generations can enjoy their beauty as we do today. It will also contribute significantly towards preserving biodiversity in our state. The protection status would limit harmful human activities such as construction or pollution that could disrupt wildlife habitats or degrade water quality.
By signing this petition, you're taking a stand for environmental conservation in New Jersey. You're voicing your support for making the wetlands a protected area over short-term economic gains. Let us come together to protect this states natural wonders before it's too late.
Please sign this petition today to make New Jersey's wetlands protected areas and preserve its unique wildlife.
