Today, we are raising the alarm about two major industrial proposals: massive solar installations and large-scale poultry operations, planned for areas directly next to long-established residential neighborhoods.

These projects are not in line with the rural, residential, and agricultural zoning that defines our township. They are industrial in scale and nature — bringing truck traffic, toxic dust, air and water pollution, overwhelming odors, noise, glare and fire risks into areas never meant to handle such burdens.

Our local water wells are already strained. Our roads are narrow and not built for constant industrial hauling. Our volunteer fire departments are not equipped to respond to poultry barn fires surrounded by high-voltage solar arrays that can leak chemicals or ignite. These are not just inconveniences — they are threats to health, safety, and the peaceful way of life we’ve built here.

We are not anti-growth. We believe in responsible development — but these projects belong in areas already zoned for heavy commercial and industrial use, not beside homes, parks, churches, and schools.

We urge the Muncy Creek Township Supervisors to reject this conditional use application and stand with the residents who live here — not the out-of-town developers who stand to profit from our loss.
