Last week after an 6 hour public comment hearing, the Marshall City Council Members voted to approve a zoning change on approximately 745 acres from light industrial to heavy industrial allowing for the Blue Oval Battery Factory to move forward.  This was despite the fact that it was obvious to all that this does not have the support of the community.    

Residents are now getting signatures from registered voters in the City of Marshall on a petition for a referendum of these zoning changes.  To help us expedite this process, we invite residents to sign the petition at different locations throughout Marshall.   

You may sign the petition at the Holiday House at 401 East Mansion, tomorrow May 8, from 4-7pm  (photo of the house above) We need approximately 700 signatures.
