Miami County residents are deeply concerned about the potential development of large industrial data centers within our communities and rural areas. These facilities can bring significant impacts including loss of farmland, increased strain on infrastructure and utilities, constant industrial noise, light pollution, environmental concerns, and longterm changes to the character of our county.

Many residents believe the current proposed protections and zoning standards are not strong enough to adequately protect nearby homes, farms, waterways, and future generations. Others believe projects of this scale should not be permitted in Miami County at all.

Through this petition, we are calling on county officials to either prohibit data centers in Miami County or adopt far stronger regulations, safeguards, setbacks, environmental protections, financial assurances, and public oversight before any such development is considered or approved.
