Protect Healthcare Workers: Review Ms. Ndivhuwo Sadike’s Case

Protect Healthcare Workers: Review Ms. Ndivhuwo Sadike’s Case
The Issue
We, the undersigned members of the public and supporters of Sovereignty of the Lord – Women Rising Under God’s Authority (We Are the Collective in Action), respectfully call upon the Minister of Health of the Republic of South Africa and relevant oversight bodies to urgently intervene in a matter concerning Ms. Ndivhuwo Sadike, a Speech Therapist and Audiologist employed within the Gauteng public healthcare system in Sebokeng.
Healthcare professionals play a critical role in protecting the health and dignity of our communities. When those who serve the public face serious workplace challenges without resolution, it raises concerns not only for the individual involved, but for the integrity and accountability of the entire healthcare system.
Reports indicate that Ms. Ndivhuwo Sadike has experienced prolonged workplace challenges which have reportedly escalated over time and have had significant professional, personal, and financial consequences.
The concerns reported include:
• Alleged prolonged workplace conflict and workplace bullying
• Alleged failure of internal grievance and escalation mechanisms
• Reported suspension or freezing of salary for approximately two months
• Severe financial hardship following the salary interruption
• Serious reported impact on the mental and physical well-being of the employee
It has been reported that the matter has been escalated through several internal institutional channels, including hospital management structures, regional authorities, district health structures, and provincial health administration. However, concerns remain that the matter has not yet been adequately resolved through internal processes.
This situation raises broader questions about administrative fairness, labour protection, and institutional accountability within the public healthcare sector.
The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa guarantees important protections, including:
• Section 10 – Human Dignity
Every person has the right to have their dignity respected and protected.
• Section 23 – Fair Labour Practices
Everyone has the right to fair labour practices.
• Section 195 – Principles Governing Public Administration
Public administration must be accountable, transparent, and guided by professional ethics.
Additionally, legislation such as the Labour Relations Act and the Protected Disclosures Act exists to protect workers and ensure fair and lawful administrative processes.
When internal mechanisms appear unable to resolve serious concerns affecting employees within public institutions, independent oversight becomes necessary to protect workers and maintain public confidence in government systems.
For these reasons, we respectfully call upon the Minister of Health and relevant oversight bodies to:
1. Initiate an independent review of the matter involving Ms. Ndivhuwo Sadike.
2. Assess whether fair labour practices were upheld.
3. Investigate the administrative processes surrounding the reported salary interruption.
4. Ensure that institutional grievance procedures are functioning properly.
Protect the dignity, safety, and professional rights of healthcare professionals working within the public healthcare system.
Healthcare professionals dedicate their lives to serving the people of South Africa. They deserve fair treatment, ethical leadership, and transparent governance within the institutions they serve.
We therefore call upon the relevant authorities to review this matter with fairness, transparency, and integrity.
By signing this petition, we stand together for justice, accountability, and the protection of healthcare professionals within our public health system.
