Protect Father’s Rights & End Parental Alienation - Equal Access for All Children
The Issue
Why I’m Starting This Petition
My name is Christopher Adams, and I’m a father who loves his daughter more than anything. I’ve done everything right — paid child support, showed up, followed court orders. But none of that has protected my relationship with my daughter.
Over time, communication began to fade. Texts went unanswered. Phone calls stopped. Then one day, I found out they had moved — and I wasn’t told where. I wasn’t even given the new address, even though the court order clearly requires that I be notified.
I’m not an absentee father. I’m a father being erased.
And I’m not alone.
The Reality Thousands of Fathers Face
Across the country, millions of fathers are being pushed out of their children’s lives due to parental alienation, bias in family court, and weak enforcement of visitation rights.
One in three children in the U.S. live without their biological father in the home (U.S. Census Bureau, 2022).
Over 13 million custodial parents in the U.S. are mothers — accounting for 80% of custody cases.
Only 22% of non-custodial fathers see their children more than once a week.
Studies show that father involvement is linked to lower dropout rates, reduced behavioral problems, and better emotional health in children.
Yet even with overwhelming research proving that children thrive with both parents, the legal system routinely fails to protect a father’s right to parent — especially when the custodial parent refuses to cooperate.
📍 Paragraph 1: Who’s Impacted
Fathers across Texas — and the entire country — are being cut out of their children’s lives without warning, explanation, or accountability. I’m one of them. My daughter’s mother moved without updating me, despite a court order requiring it. I haven’t heard from my child in over a month, and I have no idea where she lives now. If I did the same thing as a father, I’d be held in contempt of court — or worse. This isn’t just about me. It’s about every loving father who’s doing his part but is being silenced, sidelined, or treated like he doesn’t matter.
⚖️ Paragraph 2: What’s at Stake
What’s at stake is far more than phone calls or visits — it’s the emotional and mental wellbeing of our children, the integrity of the family court system, and the rights of parents who want to be present. When courts allow one parent to violate orders without consequence, it tells kids that love from one parent is disposable. It creates trauma, confusion, and long-term damage. Good fathers are being pushed out, and our children are the ones paying the price. This isn’t just unfair — it’s dangerous.
⏰ Paragraph 3: Why Now is the Time to Act
We’ve been silent too long. Too many good dads are suffering in silence while the system shrugs its shoulders. Father’s Day is here — and for many of us, it’s not a celebration, it’s a painful reminder of being erased. But it doesn’t have to stay this way. By standing up, speaking out, and demanding accountability, we can bring real change. We can push for enforcement of court orders, recognition of parental alienation, and a system that values both parents equally. Now is the time to fight back — not just for us, but for our kids.
