Petition Summary:
We, the undersigned, demand that the Chair Factory Shopping Plaza immediately terminate the lease of Ositos Restaurant owned by Chef Bobby Davis and remove them from the premises. The restaurant owner brandished a firearm in public over a trivial dispute, showing a reckless disregard for the safety of every family, parent, and child who visits this shopping plaza. This kind of dangerous behavior has no place in a community hub that so many rely on.

This plaza is a gathering place for families with kids of all ages—many of whom come to businesses here or across the street—and is located just five minutes from Davidson College. We refuse to support any landlord or business that tolerates this kind of threat to our safety and community trust.

Why We’re Taking Action:
This act endangers every single person—including parents, kids, and college students—who visit or work in the shopping plaza or nearby.
Families rely on this plaza for meals, shopping, and essential services; students from Davidson College frequent it daily.
We will boycott every business in this plaza until this threat is removed. Any landlord that tolerates this kind of reckless behavior doesn’t deserve our support, our money, or our trust.

 
Our Demands:
We demand that the Chair Factory Shopping Plaza immediately terminate the lease of Ositos Restaurant owned by Chef Bobby Davis and remove them from the premises. Allowing a business owned by someone who brandishes a firearm over a petty argument is an insult to every family that shops here and a direct threat to our kids.

We expect the landlord to take immediate and decisive action to ensure that no business operating in this plaza puts families, children, or college students in harm’s way. If they fail to act, they are complicit in putting all of us at risk.

We will not allow our community to become a place where violence is normalized. We are mothers, parents, and families who demand safety and respect. If this business owner is not removed, we will boycott every single store and restaurant in this plaza until the landlord gets the message: our families’ safety comes before their profit.

We expect better. We live here, we shop here, and we raise our children here. We will not accept violence, intimidation, or irresponsible business owners in our community—ever.
