Corica Park is a world-class masterpiece, but it’s more than just a place to play golf. It is a hub where golfers find championship-level challenge, youth find their passion, veterans find peace, artists find inspiration, and the community find their voice. Under Greenway Golf’s leadership, Corica Park has been transformed into one of the country's premier public facilities - built with private investment, not tax dollars.
The Reality vs. The City’s Narrative
While the City of Alameda pursues a hostile legal campaign to push Greenway out, the reality on the ground tells a different story of excellence. See the Evidence: www.coricaparkosp.org/facts
A Culture of Mentorship
Greenway doesn’t just manage a course; they champion people. When we wanted to start youth-led leadership programs like 4Vets and DRIVE@Corica, Greenway didn’t just offer support - they provided the space and resources to make them real. For several years, this partnership has given Alameda’s youth the tools to become not just good golfers but also the next generation of leaders.
We, the undersigned, call on Mayor Ashcraft and the City Council to:
Practice What You Preach - Act with the "respect and lack of hostility" the Mayor has stated is the Alameda standard for governance.
Stop the Litigation - End the unnecessary legal battle that wastes taxpayer money and threatens a thriving community asset.
Protect Our Programs - Safeguard the youth leadership, veteran initiatives, and community programs that have flourished under Greenway for years.
Visit the Course - See the reality for yourself. Talk to the youth, the veterans, and the community members before causing further damage.
