The Issue

The Issue We, the undersigned, raise our voices with deep sorrow and urgent concern for the protection of vulnerable Christian girls in Pakistan who continue to face terrible threats, including abduction, forced conversion, child marriage, and the denial of their religious freedom.

Behind these cases are frightened young girls, grieving families, and futures being stolen. Reports from international human rights organizations and legal cases have shown that some underage Christian girls have been taken from their homes, separated from their loved ones, pressured or forced to convert to Islam, and married before they were even legally old enough to consent. In several heartbreaking cases, courts have accepted these marriages despite serious concerns raised by families and human rights advocates.

No child should have to live in fear of being taken. No girl should be forced to give up her faith, her freedom, or her future. No family should have to suffer the pain of watching their daughter disappear into a system that fails to protect her.

This is not only a religious issue it is a human rights issue, a child protection issue, and a civil rights issue.

Every girl, regardless of religion, deserves:

• Protection from forced marriage

• Protection from sexual violence

• Freedom to remain in her faith

• Equal legal rights before the law

• Safety from coercion and intimidation

We respectfully call upon:

• United Nations

• European Union

• United States Department of State

• International human rights organizations

to urge the government of Pakistan to:

Strictly enforce child marriage laws

Protect minority Christian and Hindu girls from forced conversion

Ensure independent investigation of abduction and rape allegations

Guarantee that no minor can be married without lawful protection and verified consent

Defend religious freedom for all citizens equally

We ask all people of conscience to stand for justice, dignity, and the protection of innocent children.

These girls are not just cases in a report. They are daughters, sisters, and children whose lives matter. They deserve safety, freedom, and the chance to grow up without fear.

Your signature can help raise international attention and demand justice.
