These intelligent and emotional creatures, so closely related to us humans, are on the brink of extinction. According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), their population has plummeted due to habitat destruction, hunting and disease. In fact, there are now less than 300,000 chimpanzees left in the wild.

The loss of these incredible animals would not only be a tragedy in itself but would also have profound implications for the ecosystems they inhabit. Chimpanzees play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity by dispersing seeds throughout forests and controlling insect populations.
