Protect Children: Enact Tougher Penalties for CSAM and Child Predators

Protect Children: Enact Tougher Penalties for CSAM and Child Predators
The Issue
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is not just illegal content—it is the recorded documentation of real, ongoing sexual violence against children. Every time it is viewed or shared, the victim is re-traumatized. Yet despite the unimaginable harm it causes, many CSAM offenders face minimal jail time, probation, or early release. This is unacceptable.
In 2023, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received over 36 million reports of suspected CSAM. And the problem is growing—both in volume and severity. Studies show that over 80% of individuals found in possession of CSAM admit to hands-on sexual abuse when fully investigated. These crimes are not victimless, and they are not rare.
Yet despite these facts, many offenders receive sentences of less than five years. In some jurisdictions, offenders are released early or given light penalties that do not reflect the lifelong harm they cause. This is a betrayal of victims and a failure of justice.
We are calling for:
-Stronger mandatory minimum sentences for CSAM possession, distribution, and production
-Lifetime registration and GPS monitoring of convicted child sexual predators
-The death penalty for repeat offenders and those involved in the production or trafficking of CSAM on a large scale
These are not low-level crimes. These are acts of intentional, violent abuse against the most vulnerable. When an offender produces, traffics, or repeatedly abuses children, they should face the highest possible penalty under the law—including the death penalty.
It’s time to stop treating these crimes as anything less than what they are: a direct, deliberate attack on children. We demand laws that protect victims, not predators.
We demand justice. We demand protection. We demand change.
