Protect Carperley Beck - Stop overdevelopment in Denholme

Protect Carperley Beck - Stop overdevelopment in Denholme
The Issue
Our village is once again under threat from the construction of more houses. Planning consultancy Johnson Mowat, on behalf of Prospering Unlimited, is intending to submit an outline planning application to build 58 houses on Carperley Beck—land located off Station Road and Carperley Crescent. This is an area cherished by the residents of Denholme for its greenery and tranquility, providing a vital green space for both community and wildlife.
The proposed development not only threatens to disrupt the peaceful character of our village but also poses considerable risks to our environment and local infrastructure. More homes mean more pressure on already stretched local services, including schools, medical facilities, and roads. Carperley Beck is an important Green Space and ecological area that should be protected, not lost to further development.
It is imperative that during the Community Consultation stage, we make our voices loud and clear, to let the developer, as well as Bradford Council, understand the genuine concerns of those who will be directly impacted. The loss of this green space would not only be a physical loss but will undermine the wellbeing and quality of life of current and future generations of Denholme.
The village of Denholme deserves sustainable development practices that respect the needs of current residents and protects our environment. Further house building without any improvements to our already stretched facilities will be of great detriment to our community.
I urge you to join this cause and protect our village from unnecessary and harmful overdevelopment. Please sign this petition to stop the plans to build on Carperley Beck and preserve this green space that is essential to our community's character and health.
