Protect Carlisle's trees

The Issue

Gavin Hawkton, the Green Party’s parliamentary candidate for Carlisle, is raising a voice of concern over the threat to trees in town centre of Carlisle and is calling for transparency over their future.

We have witnessed the trend of urban trees being cut down in town and city centres across the country, disregarding the wishes of residents who want them to stay.

The trees in our urban environment play a vital role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem, reducing air pollution, providing shade during the summer, and serving as a habitat for birds.

It is highly concerning for our council to consider cutting these healthy trees down at a time when we should be actively working to make the centre of Carlisle a green and vibrant place to visit.

Please support our campaign and protect these trees.
