This petition, initiated by the We Believe Alliance, calls on the UK Government to fully proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Muslim Brotherhood without delay.

Since this petition was launched, events have escalated rapidly. The threat has intensified.

The recent terrorist attack in Golders Green, where Jewish civilians were deliberately targeted in a violent assault, is part of a growing pattern of attacks on Jewish communities across the UK.

MI5 has confirmed that around 20 Iran-linked plots posing potentially lethal risks have been disrupted since 2022. Individuals connected to Iranian networks have been arrested on British soil, with credible evidence pointing to hostile activity linked to the Iranian regime and its proxies, including networks associated with the IRGC.

This is not just about one community. It is about the safety and security of the United Kingdom and the values that underpin it.

In February 2026, the We Believe Alliance brought this evidence directly to Parliament at a House of Lords briefing attended by MPs and Peers. The momentum that followed contributed to a successful vote in the Lords to move toward proscription of the IRGC.

The Government has acknowledged the threat. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has confirmed that steps are being taken to introduce legislation. The focus must now be on delivery.

The IRGC drives hostile activity beyond Iran’s borders. Alongside it, the Muslim Brotherhood promotes an ideology fundamentally at odds with pluralism, democracy and the rule of law.

Allowing such networks to operate within the UK undermines national security and erodes public confidence.

Delay has already come at a cost. The Government must now act.
