Baguio is in Benguet Province in the Central Cordillera, the mountain range that forms the backbone of northern Luzon. On these mountains, pine trees are the dominant vegetation.

What will happen if Baguio's pine trees disappear? Without pine trees, areas would become much drier, potentially causing drought. When rain finally did come, flooding would be disastrous as there would be no trees to trap the water or keep the soil in place.

Let's encourage the local government to enact stronger regulations in order to safeguard Baguio's famous pine trees from environment hazards such as pollution and deforestations.
