Protect and restore The Reverend Blumer Farm House and Barn

Protect and restore The Reverend Blumer Farm House and Barn
The Issue
The Reverend Blumer Farm House and Barn hold an essential piece of American history, linking directly to the heroic actions of Reverend Blumer during the American Revolutionary War. It was Reverend Blumer who courageously concealed the Liberty Bell, the Philadelphia Statehouse Bell, from the British forces by hiding it under the floorboards of Zion Reformed Church in Allentown. The very structures we speak of, the farmhouse and the barn, were Reverend Blumer's home base, an integral part of the story of America's fight for freedom.
Today, these historic buildings are at risk. Neglected over the years, they are in urgent need of repairs and stabilization. If action is not taken soon, there is a genuine danger that these structures will deteriorate beyond repair, erasing a tangible link to our nation's foundational story.
This is not just about preserving old buildings; it’s about safeguarding a chapter of our shared history. Our goal is to protect and restore these structures and transform them into a museum. This effort will celebrate the life and contributions of Reverend Blumer, showcasing his involvement in defending American Liberty and making these historical events accessible to future generations.
Additionally, the restoration of the Reverend Blumer Farmhouse and Barn would enable these significant sites to be annexed to the existing Covered Bridge Park. This connection would not only enhance the park but also offer a vivid educational experience, teaching visitors about the history and values that built our nation.
By signing this petition, you will support efforts to procure the necessary funding and resources for the preservation and transformation of the Reverend Blumer Farm House and Barn. Together, we can protect, preserve, and celebrate our history for generations to come. Please sign and share this petition and help us ensure that these historical treasures are not lost forever.
