Protect Anchorage Poynte’s Wetlands — Stop the Proposed Marina

This sanctuary is now under serious threat. The proposed construction of a marina poses a grave risk to the pristine environment we hold dear. Such development threatens to devastate the critical wetland habitats that support a rich array of wildlife, including endangered species such as the Diamondback terrapins, great blue herons, and snowy egrets.

These wetlands are more than just open space; they're vital to countless creatures that rely on them for nesting, feeding, and migration.

Beyond the visible beauty, the wetlands of Anchorage Poynte harbor a thriving ecosystem. Oyster beds, clam beds, mussels, and crabs sustain the delicate balance that has prospered for generations. The construction of a marina would disrupt this balance, as the constant hum of boats and human activity would surely destroy these natural treasures, erasing the foundation of our vibrant local ecology.

Why We Must Act

We must stand together to protect the treasures of Anchorage Poynte—its wetlands and its wildlife—from the detrimental impacts of such development. We call upon local officials and stakeholders to reject this development and consider sustainable alternatives that honor the community's commitment to environmental conservation and respect the natural world that defines our home.

These wetlands protect us, nourish wildlife, and shape the character of Anchorage Poynte. Their loss would be felt for generations.
