If enacted, these cuts would:

• Cripple our ability to detect and respond to new infectious disease threats like COVID-19, Ebola, and measles.
• Halt life-saving research on cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and rare diseases by cutting NIH by 40%.
• Shut down programs that prevent chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
