Half of America’s children rely on Medicaid for their healthcare.

The Big Beautiful Bill has stripped away that lifeline — leaving millions of kids without coverage, including medically fragile children like my twin daughters, Lucy and Josie, who are both fighting cancer.

My family works hard. We pay for private insurance. Yet under this new law, we’re still losing the program that ensures our babies receive the life-saving care they need. Families like ours are being punished for circumstances beyond our control.

At the same time, the Big Beautiful Bill has gutted funding for pediatric cancer research. Across the country, doctors are scrambling to keep clinical trials open — fundraising out of pocket to save children’s lives. Research that could one day cure childhood cancer should not depend on bake sales and GoFundMes.

This is not a partisan issue. It’s a moral one.

We call on Congress to:

• Immediately restore full Medicaid coverage for all children, regardless of parental income or employment status.
• Reinstate and protect federal funding for pediatric cancer and rare-disease research.
• Reject any future legislation that weakens healthcare access for vulnerable families.

Our government’s duty is to protect its youngest citizens — not abandon them.
