Protect All Children from Abuse and Harm

The Issue

For those reading this, I am just one of many fathers who has been a witness to the horrifying aftermath of child abuse. The mother of my children took them through ordeals no child should ever experience, leaving them in therapy to this day. The innocence of all children makes them vulnerable to such atrocities, and calls for our urgent attention to this grave issue.

It is estimated that approximately 5 children die every day because of child abuse, according to Childhelp, and more than 70% of these are below the age of 3 (Kidsdata.org). These disturbing statistics reinforce the reality that we must act immediately, not just for my children, but for children everywhere.

The effects of abuse are far-reaching and last well into adulthood. According to the American Psychological Association, survivors of child abuse often experience anxieties, depressive disorders, and are often more prone to substance abuse. In extreme cases, they might also exhibit suicidal tendencies.

It is for these reasons that we demand regulatory bodies and policymakers to enforce stricter penalties on child abuse offenders, implement more robust child protective services, and invest more in the mental health support for child abuse survivors.

For the sake of our children and future generations, we must address this issue head-on. Please sign this petition to bring us one step closer to a safer world for our children.
