Protect Agricultural Education at Gregory Family Farm — Request an Alternative TVA Route

Protect Agricultural Education at Gregory Family Farm — Request an Alternative TVA Route
The Issue
Gregory Family Farm has been continuously farmed by the same family for over 200 years and now serves as a living classroom for our Farm School and Honeycomb Nature Society programs, welcoming approximately 300 children each year. Here, students learn through hands-on agriculture, explore nature, and experience local history in meaningful ways—walking historic farmland, discovering Native American artifacts, and visiting a nearby homestead cemetery that tells powerful stories of our community’s past.
The currently proposed TVA power line route would run directly through the areas where these educational programs take place. If approved as planned, it would effectively end these programs and displace a deeply valued community resource.
We understand the need for infrastructure and progress. We are simply asking for reconsideration of the current route and exploration of reasonable alternatives that would preserve this irreplaceable educational space for future generations.
By signing this petition, you are supporting agricultural education, local history, and hands-on learning experiences that connect children to the land and their community.
