The Issue

Tazewell County State’s Attorney Kevin E. Johnson

The Petition Letter:

To State’s Attorney Kevin E. Johnson,

We, the undersigned residents and concerned citizens of Tazewell County, are calling for immediate transparency and action regarding the outstanding fraud and scam investigations involving Allison Salinas.

While we acknowledge the successful prosecution and 16-year sentence handed down in August 2025 for solicitation of murder, justice remains incomplete for the many victims of her alleged financial crimes. For years, community members, former employees, and local businesses have come forward with reports of scams, unpaid wages, fundraisers that never happened after tickets were sold. She even has scammed from the tragedies around the young lives we've lost in this area.

It is our understanding that the Pekin Police Department has investigated these matters and that warrants or case files exist. By failing to pursue these charges, your office sends a message that financial exploitation and "white-collar" scams are not a priority.

We request that the State’s Attorney’s Office:

Prosecute all pending fraud-related warrants regardless of her current incarceration status.

Ensure restitution is a formal part of the legal record for the victims who suffered financial loss.

Provide a public update on why these specific financial crimes have not yet seen their day in court.

A prison sentence for one crime does not erase the debt owed to the victims of another. We demand full accountability for all of Allison Salinas' actions in Tazewell County.
