The Issue

The United Kingdom must not become a safe haven for officials, affiliates, and beneficiaries of the Islamic Republic of Iran while that regime threatens British security, suppresses human rights, and promotes terrorism.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is the backbone of the Islamic Republic’s repression at home and violent operations abroad. According to UK security officials, MI5 disrupted multiple IRGC-linked terrorist plots in the UK in recent years, highlighting the growing and direct threat posed on British soil.

Despite this, the IRGC has not yet been fully proscribed as a terrorist organisation in the UK, unlike in several allied countries.

At the same time, senior figures and relatives linked to the Islamic Republic continue to live comfortably in Britain, enjoying freedoms denied to ordinary Iranians — including women, dissidents, and minorities  while openly supporting the regime’s ideology and actions.

One former senior official of the Islamic Republic, Ata Ollah Mohajerani is living in the UK while continuing to support:

  • The Iranian regime
  • Extremist groups such as Hamas
  • Ayatollah Khomeini’s fatwa calling for the murder of British citizen Salman Rushdie. This fatwa was not symbolic, it directly incited violence against a UK national and represents an ongoing ideological commitment to murder under the banner of religion.

There are also serious concerns about financial networks linked to the Iranian regime operating through the UK such as Ali Ansari, including:

  • Individuals with unexplained wealth and luxury property holdings.
  • Thousands of UK-registered shell companies allegedly used to move regime-linked funds and bypass sanctions. A lack of transparent investigation into the sources of this wealth

During the general election campaign, Keir Starmer pledged to proscribe the IRGC. Many voters supported this commitment in good faith. Yet, despite mounting security warnings and moral responsibility, this promise remains unfulfilled.

What We Are Asking For
We call on the UK Government to:

  • Immediately proscribe the IRGC as a terrorist organisation
  • Investigate and, where appropriate, expel senior Islamic Republic officials and affiliates living in the UK
  • Launch transparent investigations into regime-linked money laundering and unexplained wealth
Close legal and corporate loopholes enabling sanctions evasion
  • Stand unequivocally with British security, international law, and the victims of the Iranian regime
Britain must not protect those who glorify violence, repression, and terrorism, especially while claiming to defend democracy, free speech, and the rule of law.

Why This Matters
This is not about nationality or ethnicity.
It is about accountability, national security, and moral consistency.

The British public deserves to know who is living among us, how they acquired their wealth, and whether they actively support violent extremist ideologies.

If the UK truly stands for freedom, it must stop offering shelter to those who work against it
