Aragon Project Update - June 30, 2026

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know the status with the Aragon development application.  

We continue to have ongoing, constructive communications with Saanich leadership about our community’s future and our core concerns and to ensure we are part of the process. 

To ensure our concerns are well-documented and fully substantiated, we are also taking the time to look into the many complexities of this proposal in greater detail.

We are currently compiling this research into a comprehensive “Master Document”. This document will serve as an all-in-one resource to help us better communicate our community’s issues and concerns to Saanich Staff, Council, and to all of you in our Cordova Bay community.

We look forward to sharing this with you later this summer as a tool to help ensure every decision-maker has a clear, evidence-based understanding of why we believe the current proposal needs a different approach to better align with the future of Cordova Bay.

Saanich staff continue to review the Aragon development application, and it is our understanding that it is highly unlikely to be completed before the upcoming Saanich Municipal Election on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

If this changes we will let you all know.

Please continue to share this petition and tell your neighbors as some folks are still unaware of the development application currently being reviewed by Saanich, and of course the massive implications it will have for our community.
