Just a quick update for everyone supporting our efforts. I’ve communicated with the President of the Cordova Bay Association for Community Affairs, and nothing has changed—Aragon has still not submitted a formal proposal to Saanich, so we continue to wait.
In the meantime, our petition continues to grow and now has over 1,700 signatures, which is incredible. Thank you so much for your support! Please keep sharing it with friends and neighbors—this is our community’s voice, and we will need it soon.
Again, to be clear, we are not against development, only inappropriate development that does not reflect the rural character of Cordova Bay, like the proposal shown at the Cordova Bay School meeting last November. The image presented then (and on our homepage) is exactly what concerns us. We are simply asking for common-sense development that respects our surrounding community.
Also, a quick reminder that all signatures on this Change.org petition are permanent, regardless of when they were added. Even if you signed months ago, your support is still valid and counts.
Lastly, I shared a photo above of a typical Cordova Bay area road—quiet, rural, and representative of most of our neighborhood—as a reminder of what’s at stake. And as for forced housing legislation, if it actually worked, the housing and affordability crisis would have been solved long ago. Clearly, it hasn’t. Let’s keep standing together to protect what makes Cordova Bay special.
Thank you!
Best Regards,
Dan Horth
