Saanich will host a town hall meeting tomorrow night, giving residents the opportunity to ask their district council questions directly in an open mic format.

The meeting will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Hellenic Community Centre at 4648 Elk Lake Dr.

The open-mic format has no set agenda and residents are encouraged to speak on topics they feel are important. Each speaker is given three minutes.

The town hall is the second of its kind in Saanich. The first was held last fall at Cedar Hill Golf Course.

According to council, which has agreed to hold three town halls this year, the meeting is meant to give community members more opportunity to have input in shaping Saanich through dialogue and collaboration.

The town halls are not webcast and remote participation is not available.

I encourage EVERYONE to attend! Even if you are not comfortable speaking during the meeting, please show up, and bring your neighbors if possible. We need full on support to show the Mayor and Council that we are not ok with the degree they are taking on development initiatives in our community. This will include the Gravel Pit, once Aragon submits their formal submission.
