Proposal to Restore "Change Owner" Lead Assignment Rights to SMs and AGMs
Proposal to Restore "Change Owner" Lead Assignment Rights to SMs and AGMs
The Issue
We are proposing the restoration of the "Change Owner" capability within the CRM for Senior Managers (SMs) and Assistant General Managers (AGMs). Currently, the restriction on manual reassignment creates operational bottlenecks, burns through lead pools inefficiently, and limits a manager’s ability to strategically coach and motivate Business Development Associates (BDAs).
Key Problem Statements & Strategic Justification
Persona & Language Alignment: High-conversion sales rely heavily on rapport. Managers need the flexibility to route specific leads to BDAs who match the prospect’s persona—such as assigning regional-language (e.g., Telugu) leads to native speakers. This is critical for reviving conversion rates and rebuilding associate confidence during slumps.
Preventing Lead Burnout & Churn: When BDAs exhaust active pipelines, automated allocation often results in reps dialling dead or over-contacted leads dozens of times. Giving SMs ownership reassignment authority ensures unworked or fresh leads can be strategically redistributed before associates burn out calling the same contacts repeatedly.
Performance-Driven Incentives (TRO Drivers): High-intent organic leads are premium inventory. Restoring reassignment control allows managers to use high-quality organic leads as immediate performance rewards to drive higher Target Run Rates (TROs) and reward top activity.
Real-Time Pipeline Agility: Floor managers are closest to daily conversion patterns and rep bandwidth. Centralized or locked lead flows create lag; floor-level allocation allows instantaneous course corrections during critical closing windows
Proposed Guardrails & Governance To ensure fairness and prevent misallocation or hoarding, the feature can be reinstated with clear operational guardrails:
1. Daily/weekly cap per manager on manual reassignments.
2. Mandatory audit log tracking reason codes for every owner change (e.g., Language Alignment, Incentive/Reward, Pipeline Replenishment).
3. Weekly spot-checks by Revenue Operations to maintain governance.
