The Issue

We, the concerned members of the community, are calling on Larne F.C. Soccer Club and Sports NI to uphold the integrity and safety of the sport by conducting proper physical and identity examinations for all players—starting with Nigerian player Ambrose Ajala Jr., also known as JBOY

Larne F.C. has come under increasing scrutiny due to reports of players being recruited without adequate verification of their identities. This includes a troubling lack of proper background checks, biological examinations, and genetic verification—measures that are essential not only for the individual’s safety but also for the safety of their teammates.

The most pressing case is that of Ambrose Ajala Jr., a player whose true paternity and identity have been widely questioned in the community. In 2019, it was publicly disclosed by his aunt (known as Lolo Anu) that Ambrose’s biological father is believed to be Dumez Edo of Holland, who had a longstanding relationship with JBOY’s mother, Monica Edokpolor Ajala. Mr. Edo has openly stated that he would accept responsibility if a DNA test confirms paternity. Despite this, Monica Edokpolor Ajala and Ambrose Ajala Sr. have refused community requests to confirm JBOY’s identity through testing.

This uncertainty not only raises ethical and legal concerns but also puts other players at risk. A complete and accurate physical examination cannot be conducted if a player’s true identity is unknown. Furthermore, identity verification is a standard practice in professional sports to prevent eligibility fraud and to ensure fair and safe competition.

We demand that Larne F.C. and Sports NI:

 1. Immediately verify the true identity of Ambrose Ajala Jr. through legal and genetic background checks.

 2. Implement a mandatory, comprehensive identity and physical examination policy for all players.

 3. Reevaluate current players whose identities have not been appropriately verified to date.

Player safety, team liability, and the integrity of the game are at stake. Proper identity checks—including paternity testing when relevant—are not just procedural; they are necessary for maintaining the highest standard of professionalism in football.

We urge you to take swift action and ensure that every player on the field is properly vetted.

Sign this petition if you believe in player safety, integrity in recruitment, and accountability in sport.
