Promptly Address Clean up of Pacific Palisades and Eaton Fire Damage
The Issue
Fires touched my hometown and the places I held dear in early 2025. The catastrophic Palisades and Eaton Fires irrevocably disrupted the lives of countless individuals within our communities. Despite this, the county of Los Angeles and the City of Los Angeles have given a timeline of eighteen months to complete toxin and debris removal. This is unacceptable and falls distressingly short of the comprehensive, efficient response that this situation demands.
The lingering toxins, fire debris, and environmental damage need to be removed within six months starting February 1, 2025.
We need to shorten the length of time that was told to residents on January 23, 2025, by county and city officials. It is distressing that the same governing bodies who pledge to serve us find 18 months as an acceptable time period. Per todays visit by President Donald J. Trump, he also agrees that 18 months is way to long to get this job done.
It's time the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County step up and speed up the clean-up procedure for the fire-affected areas and take solid steps towards environmental rehabilitation. I, along with others, depend on these bodies to restore our sense of security, hope, and ensure our rightful place in what was once a safe and comforting community setting.
Please, join me in urging Los Angeles's city and county to prioritize and expedite the clean-up process of fire-detached areas. 18 months is unacceptable! Stand with me, sign this petition for swift action. Let's restore hope and wellbeing to our communities.
