As Ward Data Processing Secretaries, we have lost our educational capacities without our consent, and now find ourselves handling a significant portion of the workload for the SGSW Department. Every day, we engage in a wide range of essential services such as processing Aadhar, Ration, Income, Caste, Adangal, and Sadaram documents, among others. Despite being the backbone of these services, our basic salary remains alarmingly low compared to our counterparts like Welfare secretaries and Mahila police Secretaries.
Currently, the administrative path to promotions bypasses us entirely, pushing us further down the hierarchy and making it nearly impossible for us to rise within the ranks of the municipality. All the while, our efforts and sacrifices go unrewarded, leading to a demoralizing work environment where our hard work barely allows us to make ends meet.
Our role is not only crucial to the community but also a key revenue source for the SGSW Department, yet our compensation does not reflect the critical importance of our work. We are the faces that interact directly with the public, conducting necessary surveys door-to-door, and yet remain significantly undervalued.
The discrepancy in salary, as compared to other secretaries, is unjust and demoralizing. We believe our hard work and dedication deserve recognition and proportional compensation. A fair basic salary of INR 28,000 should be the standard, reflecting our contributions and significance in the department.
