I am a woman who has experienced first hand the discrimination and bias that exists in our place. My credibility was questioned not because of my skills or capabilities, but because of my gender. They assumed that I was weak both emotionally and physically simply because I am a woman. This is an unjust reality that many women face not only here in Cabuyao, Laguna, but across the Philippines.

Gender discrimination is a pervasive issue that undermines productivity and morale. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), as of 2019, women only make up 39% of employed persons despite constituting almost half of the total population. This disparity speaks volumes about how we perceive and treat women in our society.

We need to change this narrative now. We must urge employers to view their female employees with equal regard as they do their male counterparts - recognizing their strengths and contributions without bias or prejudice.
