The Issue

Don't you love a promising future? A future led by the minds of the current generation, so full of creativity and uniqueness that are bound only by the limits of their imagination. But, will they really be able to change the world if they don't have that same potential?  Or the same resources to do so?

That is the issue at stake. And it is happening to the very school sheltering the same promising generation.

San Jose-Litex Senior High School. A promising academic institution located in Montalban, Rizal. And the Rizal Province stands out as one of the country’s educational leaders, with a remarkable 99.70% functional literacy rate in 2019 and securing its place among the top 10 most literate provinces in the Philippines, as reported in the 2024 Functional Literacy, Education and Mass Media Survey (FLEMMS). San Jose-Litex is also well-known all around Montalban as it houses one of the most dedicated teaching staff in this region. And yet, the school suffers because of something they aren't able to get: resources.

The Department of Education (DepED) in Rizal Province calls for urgent action, as per DepED's Division of Rizal’s 2023–2028 Division Education Development Plan (DEDP). While this sets a strong foundations by targeting equality and well-being, the challenges it outlines, that includes insufficient funding, outdated curriculum, questionable infrastructure, and rising cases of bullying and abuse demands attention.

Can you imagine fitting a section of 50 students in a room meant for 30?

If we want a promising future for this current generation, then signing this petition starts the first step towards that outcome. Because this issue is not allowing the students of Litex to reach new heights. Allowing people to realize that our current state in education demands immediate call for action, will be one of the major steps to make the future of these students secured.

Together, we have the power to change this. By lending your voice, you are not just signing a petition—you are standing with every student who dreams of a better future, every teacher who fights daily against limitations, and every parent who hopes for their child’s success. Education is not a privilege; it is a right. Let us act now and make sure that the students of San Jose-Litex Senior High School have the classrooms, resources, and opportunities they deserve. Sign today,  because their future depends on what we choose to do in this moment!
