My daughter suffered a brutal attack on her school bus in October 2022. This horrific incident was not only witnessed by numerous children but also filmed and uploaded to social media for all to see. Unfortunately, my daughter is not alone; this is happening at an increasingly alarming rate across schools in our country.

Mobile phones have become tools of humiliation and bullying, rather than instruments of communication. They are used to capture moments that should never be shared publicly, causing immense emotional harm to victims like my daughter.

Moreover, these devices are also distracting our children from their primary purpose in school - learning. Instead of focusing on lessons and engaging with teachers, students are often found texting during class when they claim they're "bored". This misuse of technology is taking away valuable educational time and hindering their academic growth.

According to a study conducted by the London School of Economics (LSE), schools that banned mobile phones saw test scores increase by 6.4% (Beland & Murphy, 2015). It's clear evidence that without these distractions, students can focus better on their studies and perform better acadically.
