Greetings,

Important opportunities are coming up this week for water advocates! We hope to see you there. Also, thank you to everyone who attended sign-waving on 2/27 and to those who have placed yard signs in their yards and communities. Our voices are loud and we are visible!

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Lebanon City Council Meeting: TONIGHT, Monday, March 9th, 6:45 PM recommended arrival, council meeting start time 7:15 PM. Show up to oppose Ordinance 2026-05. If passed by the Lebanon City Council, Ordinance 2026-05 would ratify and put in effect “water usage coordination memorandum of understanding” regarding the agreement between Citizens Energy, Lebanon Utilities and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation regarding the allocation of water to the Civil and LEAP Water Districts. This agreement empowers the Indiana Economic Development Corporation to be a primary decision maker in regards to water allocation including additional water withdrawal for LEAP. Ordinance 2026-05 was added to the February 23 agenda with short notice and called for a vote upon first reading, but ultimately, a vote was deferred to March 9. Just like February 23, an opportunity for public comment was not originally listed on the agenda, there is not an opportunity for public listed for March 9. Let us know if you can be there via this form: Sign up for Lebanon Council Meeting 3/9
