When I first moved to Phase 1 Lake Arrowhead, serenity and peace surrounded us. We would frequently see deer peacefully roaming around, oblivious to human presence. Yet, with the surge in popularity of Airbnb and VRBO rentals in our area, this tranquil image has been tarnished.

Many of our new temporary neighbors bring noise and clutter, showing scant regard for our community's long-standing ethos of peaceful living. They upend our rural tranquility with their disorderly conduct, disrupting the wildlife and adding unnecessary stress to our daily lives.

According to The Community Associations Institute, disruptive vacation rentals can negatively impact neighborhoods, causing issues such as parking and noise nuisance. We don’t intend for our community to endure these nuisances, particularly when it compromises our quality of life and endangers the local wildlife.

Given these circumstances, we urgently call for a ban on short-term Airbnb and VRBO rentals in Phase 1 Lake Arrowhead. This step can help us reclaim the tranquility of our community and secure a safer environment for the magnificent deer and other wildlife living among us.
