The Issue

I am deeply concerned about the health of every living being in Ireland, from humans to plants, animals, and insects. We all deserve to breathe clean air. However, cloud seeding over our airspace and sea territory is threatening this basic right. Cloud seeding is a form of weather modification that involves dispersing substances into the air to increase precipitation or rain. The byproducts used in this process can have harmful effects on our health and environment.

According to a study published in Environmental Science & Technology (2016), silver iodide - one of the most common substances used for cloud seeding - has been found in high concentrations in soil samples near areas where cloud seeding occurred. This raises concerns about potential contamination of our natural resources.

Moreover, research from the Journal of Aerosol Science (2018) suggests that exposure to particulate matter from cloud seeding can lead to respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis, and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

Given these risks associated with cloud seeding practices over Irish airspace and sea territory, we urge the Irish government to make it illegal for any such activities to take place. We need your support now more than ever before; sign this petition today so we can protect our health and preserve clean air for all inhabitants of Ireland.
