As an ardent Oilers fan, I am deeply troubled by the actions of our current Premier, Danielle Smith. Her blatant favoritism towards Calgary, and disregard for Edmonton's needs is inexcusable. For instance, a much-needed hospital project in South Edmonton was recently scrapped from the provincial government's budget. Yet, they found funds to build a brand new arena for the CALGARY FLAMES - our fiercest rivals.

It is also worth noting that Rogers Place - the home of our beloved Oilers - received no public funding from the provincial government. This disparity in resource allocation not only undermines Edmonton's growth but also fuels the rivalry between these two great cities. Smith is such a buffoon that during last year's provincial election, even hardcore right-wing conservatives opted to vote for the NDP instead

This petition seeks to prohibit Premier Danielle Smith from making any bets supporting the Edmonton Oilers until she demonstrates equal support and commitment to both cities' development. It is time we demand fairness and transparency in how our tax dollars are spent. 

There has already been public outrage demonstrated on X (formerly known as Twitter) in response this of proposed bet.
