Please sign our petition to give HOPE and potentially new therapies to the 10,000 people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in the UK.

Stem cell treatment for CF is currently not available in the UK because research and patient clinical trials have not yet begun.

The following statistics from the CF Trust are horrific and unacceptable. We’re talking about REAL PEOPLE with their own lives, families and friends, NOT just numbers – something needs to change!!!

• 2 people with CF die every week
• 1 in 3 die whilst on the transplant list 
• Average age of survival is just 41

Director of Research at the CF Trust, Dr Janet Allen’s statement on 5th February 2015 in relation to stem cell  treatment in the news:

“Stem cell therapies hold enormous promise for the future.  However, at the moment, the work is still at an experimental stage and is not available as routine.  It is very important that any claims for success are properly evaluated and subject to critical review by independent experts.  Stem cell therapies need to be scrutinised as rigorously as any new treatment for cystic fibrosis.”
