"No to Proposed Amendments of RA 9298"

"No to Proposed Amendments of RA 9298"
The Issue
We are listing the reasons, why we are against to the proposed amendments of RA 9298 (Philippine Accountancy Law);
1. We all know that the fresh graduate of Accountancy course choose not to work after graduation, in order to focus on the LECPA. The topic on the board subjects was not stagnant and always have changes every year. What's the proof "2 years experience" that it will generate a greater chance of passing a licensure examination? LECPA was not work-based examination.
2. Practice the transparency by releasing to the public the CPA Examination Questions. Prepare an honest to goodness licensure examinations that are faithful to your issued TOS and release the test item and analysis too.
3. How do we know that the results of the examination of LECPA was true? Pass or fail grading was really unfair. It's like giving them the power to choose who will pass and fail the exam without providing numerical grades to support why you passed or failed the subject.
4. Investigate the causes of low passing rates and communicate to stakeholders ways to reverse the trend.
5. If your intention is to produce a more competitive CPA’s worldwide. We must strengthen our regulations to schools offering BSA course like for instance closing the program of that school who got LECPA passing percentage twice below the percentage set by the board.
6. Even the Supreme Court bar examination, allow the schools to publish who successfully pass the examination. The SC rank the schools within a specified brackets. Its the school pride. As a regulating body, what is wrong to publish the result?
7. You are not helping improve the profession. You are killing it!
We calling out the former students and cirrently students, those who are previous or currently officers of JPIA whether local, regional, or national to voice out our sentiments regarding the proposed amendments in RA 9298. Remember, it's our future that is at stake. It's time that JPIA make a stand. You represent the BSA students of the Philippines so make a stand!
