Businesses that are losing considerable earnings due to the COVID-19 crisis are being forced by private landlords to pay rent on premises that their staff and customers are not allowed to enter due to the lockdown. Forcing companies to pay rent when they have no or little income will push many businesses into insolvency, putting hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk.

We are asking for private landlords to give rent holidays or significant rent reductions for three months to businesses in need, whose premises are closed.

We are asking for meaningful rent relief, not deferrals. Deferrals don't help. Our revenue is lost, not deferred, and rent payment deferrals will only plunge us into arrears and financial debt.
