Private Hire, Taxi Drivers & Delivery Riders to remain as Freelancers

Private Hire, Taxi Drivers & Delivery Riders to remain as Freelancers
The Issue
Both the Labour Movement and Singapore's Ministry of Manpower are planning to propose full-time employment for all Private Hire Drivers, Taxi Drivers, and Delivery Riders. Nothing concrete has been formed but I would like to put a stop and be extremely skeptical of their proposal.
I would like the Workers Party to provide support for us Platform workers to ensure that the Ministry of Manpower tax us even further by making us work longer hours and taking a portion of what we are already making like what they did with Bus Drivers. We, Platform Workers, are already not making a lot and are in our trade for our own reasons mainly flexibility where we are taking care of our loved ones. And we DO NOT want the Ministry of Manpower to interfere to the point that we are spending even more time on the road.
If the SBS Transit Bus Drivers had to engage their own lawyer to fight in court with SBS Transit without the help of NTUC nor the Ministry of Manpower, what assurance can we get from the Ministry of Manpower that they are looking out for the interest of Platform Workers.
In my own experience with the NPHVA, I have requested the NPHVA for assistance with rental companies, only to be declined by them as they mention that it is an agreement between Hirer and Leasing Companies. Hence, I would point out that if NPHVA cannot even interfere with Rental Companies, it is my opinion that NPHVA does NOT have the interest of Private Hire Drivers in mind when proposing Full-Time Employment for us. What would stop the NPHVA from saying that we did not read our Employment Contract if we were to receive Employment Contract from the Platforms that we will be on if they CANNOT even interfere with our Rental Agreeements?
I seek the support of ALL Private Hire Drivers, Taxi Drivers and Delivery Riders. I urge you to sign this petition as well as go to your own respective MPs to raise this issue that WE DO NOT seek full-time employment and would like to continue on our current freelance arrangement that we have with our platforms. The Ministry and the Labour Movement are free to encourage additional benefits and coverage for the Platform Workers but if it is at the expense of Employment, then I would like to decline and say that it is not in our best interest.
