YWCA of Bangalore City started this petition to companies in Bangalore.

Having more women in the workplace actually makes an organization a better place to work. Having a higher percentage of female talent in an organization has proved:

  • More job satisfaction;
  • More organizational dedication;
  • More meaningful work; and
  • Less burnout.

However, women are routinely sidelined by the companies on prejudices, thus limiting scope for their successful employment.

Please sign our petition to ensure skilled women are employed.

According to the study by Ministry of Labour and Employment by Government of India released on 30 JUL 2018 3:07PM by PIB Delhi, the ratio of women working in Karnataka has decreased when compared to previous year.  Not just in Karnataka, the All India ratio has decreased by 3.8% in just a year.

Specifically in the India context, the female labour force participation has had a decadal fall from 36.7 per cent in 2005 to 26 per cent in 2018.

Of late, women find it more challenging to be hired in companies. Many highly qualified women are not considered as the HR is biased and subconsciously devalues their skills and knowledge. Women with dependents are very unlikely to find rightful placement which is not fair.

Just give them what is their right!!

Please support us in demanding that:

i) Immediate correction be made and women applicants stand a fair chance at the interviews.

ii) Companies to provide equal opportunity to women and make the target to hire 50% of women.

Please sign and share our petition to ensure that those women who are fighting for jobs in companies get what they deserve!
