Petition: Reserve Regina Fieldhouse for Tennis Activities Only

We, the undersigned members of the Regina tennis community, respectfully request the following:

Background: The Regina Fieldhouse is the only indoor tennis facility available during the winter months. Recently, we have observed that the majority of prime tennis court hours have been allocated to non-tennis activities, such as track and field and yoga classes. These activities could be easily accommodated in any other city gym. Meanwhile, our vibrant tennis community, consisting of active players, competitive juniors, and numerous enthusiasts eager to participate in this sport, faces significant challenges in accessing court time.

Our Request: We urge the City of Regina to reserve the Fieldhouse tennis courts for their intended purpose—tennis activities—especially during prime hours due to the high demand. This will ensure that our growing community can continue to thrive and that all players have fair access to practice and play.

Supporting Information:

The tennis community is growing steadily, with increasing participation among all age groups.
Competitive junior players require consistent court time for training and development.
Tennis is a lifelong sport that promotes health, fitness, and community engagement.
