Prioritize Optimization, Consistency, and Core Game Quality in Dreamlight Valley

Prioritize Optimization, Consistency, and Core Game Quality in Dreamlight Valley
The Issue
We, the undersigned players, are calling on Gameloft to address ongoing quality and optimization issues that are actively diminishing the core experience of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
For many players, decorating is not a side activity. It is the endgame. It is the long term creative loop that keeps us invested. Unfortunately, technical inconsistencies and recent development priorities are eroding that experience.
1. Inconsistent Object Footprints and Grid Logic
There are widespread inconsistencies between the visible size of objects and the grid space they occupy. Small objects can take up excessive space, while others leave awkward gaps or do not align logically.
This is not a minor inconvenience. The grid system is the foundation of decorating. When placement rules feel unpredictable or illogical, creativity becomes frustration.
A comprehensive review of object footprints and placement logic is needed to restore confidence in the decorating system.
2. Optimization and Visual Quality Across Platforms
Players across platforms report visual inconsistencies, pixelation, and performance issues, including with premium shop assets purchased with real money.
This is a paid game with additional paid DLC and premium currency on top. Optimization should not feel secondary. Visual fidelity and stability should meet modern standards across all supported platforms.
Regardless of hardware, players should not encounter degraded assets, inconsistent rendering quality, or technical shortcuts in paid cosmetic content.
For reference are these pictures screenshots from PS5.
3. Declining Content Quality in Recent Updates
Recent updates, including the Cinderella content drop, have been widely perceived as underwhelming compared to earlier expansions.
At the same time, there appears to be an increasing emphasis on:
- Premium shop rotations
- Paid expansion packs
While monetization is part of modern game development, it becomes concerning when the perceived effort and depth of core content updates appear to shrink while paid offerings continue to expand.
Players are noticing the imbalance.
4. Paid Model Requires Higher Standards
When the game moved away from a free to play model and became a paid product, expectations shifted.
A premium priced game that also employs aggressive monetization tactics must uphold strong standards in:
- Optimization
- Asset quality
- Content depth
- System polish
We are not asking for endless new features. We are asking for refinement, consistency, and professional quality control in systems that form the backbone of the experience.
Our Requests
We respectfully ask Gameloft to:
- Conduct a full audit of object footprints and grid alignment
- Improve overall optimization and visual consistency across platforms
- Ensure premium shop assets meet appropriate quality standards
- Rebalance development priorities toward meaningful core content updates
- Communicate transparently about roadmap direction and technical limitations
We care about this game. That is why we are speaking up.
Disney Dreamlight Valley has enormous potential. But potential must be supported by polish, stability, and respect for the players who fund it.
