West Virginia is facing a severe public health crisis. Many of our residents do not even have access to safe, clean drinking water and cannot drink the water coming out of their own taps. Despite this basic infrastructure failure, state leadership is using House Bill 2014 to fast-track corporate data centers that drain millions of gallons of fresh water every single day.It is completely unacceptable for the state to hand over our precious natural resources to multi-billion-dollar tech corporations while local families are left without safe water to drink. Technology should never come before human survival. We do not want these data centers in our state at all.Our Demands:An Immediate Total Ban: Stop all current and future certifications for high-impact data centers under HB 2014.Fix Our Infrastructure First: Redirect all state focus, funding, and corporate subsidies away from tech microgrids and into repairing local public water systems so every West Virginian has safe drinking water.Restore Community Control: Repeal the sections of HB 2014 that strip local cities and counties of their zoning laws, giving residents the absolute right to reject these corporate projects entirely.Sign this petition to tell Governor Morrisey and the WVDEP that our lives and our drinking water come before corporate data centers!
