Principal to be stood down due to Inaction on bullying - Vote of no confidence
The issue
I am writing this on behalf of the parents and affected Children at Beenyup Primary in Byford WA
Our Principal has systemically failed our students with her inaction on bullying. Our children are at risk daily as the most that happens is that a child gets sent home for the afternoon and is back the next day. There are children physically assaulting other children, stealing their food, cyber bullying. And if you're a child with extra needs, good luck to you. The good teachers we have left we are worried about losing because of the culture of the school
The bullying also goes beyond children to other children, staff have also been bullied by other staff. To the point where Beenyup has incredibly high attrition of teachers and EA's, above and beyond the impacts of Covid
Our principal is not open to feedback, looks to make excuses for her lack of action and places the blame on the victims, that they need to learn strategies to deal with bullies
When asked why it took weeks to speak with her, she declared she was "very busy running a multi million dollar business" Quite the attitude for a place where our children should be cared for and nurtured.
