The Waubonsie Valley high school parking lot system is flawed in multiple aspects. In the morning, the parking lot has an unnecessary amount of traffic with both parents dropping off students as well as students driving themselves to school. The traffic is always backed up well beyond the light and takes way too long to get in and out of school. This often results in students being late for class in the morning and coming home late from school. I propose that there should be another drop off point allocated at our school so that parents can drop students off without interfering with students driving themselves to school as well as the buses. This heavy traffic also leads to more crashes as students are trying to get into the parking lot and leave the parking lot as fast as possible when school ends. I also believe students should be able to leave the parking lot first after school before the teachers because they have after school activities to attend to whether that be sports, clubs, work, or any other activity that may be. Please sign this petition if you believe that the Waubonsie Valley high school parking lot rules should be altered to allow a smoother entrance and exit in the morning and after school.
