St. Xavier's College: Online Mode should be applicable for the current semester for studen
As the college has not yet been operative fully in offline mode. Some students being outstation have still not managed to get a suitable accommodation as it was uncertain. Due to the short notice, it will not only be time consuming to find a proper place but it will also be difficult to look for an accommodation in terms of safety as per the COVID guidelines in different cities.
Considering the fact that COVID cases are still prevailing in the city, if any student catches COVID in the midst of offline exams, it will not only lead to uncertainity about the remaining exams but it will also be unfair and infeasible for an outstation student who resides in a sharing rooms. While we understand all due precautions will be taken by the college and all students, we cannot completely ignore and neglect the spread of the virus and hence, due to safety concerns, we are particularly worried to come to college for our final examinations.
Moreover, due to the continuous exams as scheduled according to the end semester Time-Table, we believe we will not be able to perform to the best of our abilities. We have been giving online tests and examinations since the past 2 years- coming offline will put a lot of mental pressure on us as we have quite notably lost practice and as a result it will get quite overwhelming. The whole semester has also been in a hybrid mode and a majority of student have attended the classes only, so we believe that the conduction of offline exams from a new session would be much more rational and practical.
